The Secret Identity of Devon Delaney by Lauren Barnholdt is really good. It teaches you to not lie. It also teaches you that being popular is not super awesome. Because sometimes popular friends aren’t really nice. And you shouldn’t lie to your friends because people always find out and then they think you’re lying every time you say something. It’s better to tell the truth and be yourself.

Liberty

It’s November! That means you have to think about what to buy for a bunch of kids for the holidays. We celebrate Christmas, but our friends Noah and Madison celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah and other people do Kwanzaa and other people don’t do holidays, but still buy their kids things. So we’re going to try to post a review every weekday in November to help you with your gift lists. Also, we have tons of things to give away like books, DVDs, and games.

Here is our first pre-holiday book review (I think we’re going to try to do books all week long, but I can’t remember if that’s true or not). It’s a huge book called The Way We Work by David Macaulay. It’s not the kind of thing we like. But watch the video because my mom says it’s a really good book and lots of people might like it.

We’re giving away a different big book. It’s called The Bill Martin Jr. Big Book of Poetry. It’s a huge book filled with poems that were picked by Bill Martin Jr. To enter the contest, just leave a comment telling us what your favorite book is. Just Grace Walks the Dog is about a girl named Grace who wants a dog, but can’t have one so she builds a cardboard dog named Chip-Up so she could show her parents she has enough responsibility to have her own dog.

I liked this book a lot. At the end, there is an extra-credit report that Grace wrote about the kinds of dogs she doesn’t like. One of my favorite parts was the Dog Chart where Grace wrote the names of dogs from the park and then told the good and bad things about each dog.

Everything you ever wanted to know about Naruto is in this book! And if you think you don’t like manga, then you should check out Naruto. He’s awesome and so are his friends and enemies.
