The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is really good, but it’s really sad. It’s good to learn about the holocaust, but I just want to warn you that it’s soooooo sad. You should still watch it and even if it’s PG-13, it’s just because of the ending and what it’s about so maybe it’s ok for under 13, too, because it’s history.
YOU’VE HEARD OF HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL RIGHT?! Well, a brand new one is coming tomorrow!!! You better get High School Musical 3 cuz it’s AWESOME! If you don’t get it tomorrow then get it soon!!!!! And get the extended edition with the bloopers and the bonus clips and the Digital Copy that’s made for playing it on your laptop!!!!
We love Mary Poppins and Disney just released a new 45th anniversary edition of it! It has all of the bonus features plus a new one that takes you backstage to Mary Poppins on Broadway. Our friend Peyton and his mom Erin reviewed it:
Introduce a whole new generation to the joys of MaryPoppins. Peyton (age 3) wanted to watch this movie over and over. He walked around singing “Chim-chimeree” for days. He especially giggled when Burt played his one-man band and Burt, Mary and the kids went foxhunting. He was entranced by the chimney sweeps popping out of the chimneys to dance on the roof-tops. He laughed along when they all went floating up to the ceiling. Best of all…it’s a kids movie that I (his mom) can actually enjoy watching over and over, as preschoolers tend to do!”
Space Buddies is coming out on DVD tomorrow, February 3rd. Space Buddies is about 5 puppies that accidentally end up going to space when they are peeking in a rocket ship. They meet new friends and they all have to work together to get back home. I think this movie is a little bit funny and good. And golden retrievers are my favorite dogs so it was fun watching the little puppies.
And here is a Space Buddies activity sheet for you to do! Click on it and print it out! It’s fun!!
We got a bunch of movies a long time ago that we didn’t review yet because we didn’t like them and we don’t like to do bad reviews.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s andFunny Face are both old movies that they released again with new special features, in honor of Audrey Hepburn’s 80th birthday anniversary. My grandma likes these movies and my mom does too, but I can’t really understand when the people talk because I think they talk too fast! Maya liked the singing and dancing in Funny Face, but I didn’t. My mom liked the special features and the booklet that came with them. They both come with 2 discs and the 2nd disc is all special features.
The best and the most important part is one of the new special features on Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It’s called Mr. Yunioshi: An Asian Perspective and it talks about how racist it was to have Mickey Rooney play a Japanese character with so many bad stereotypes. It also talks about other Asian stereotypes in movies and tv and why that’s wrong. And it talks about the Japanese interment camps during WWII and how bad that was. It’s the most interesting part of the DVD. Here are Breakfast at Tiffany’s other special features:
o A Golightly Gathering (new)
o Henry Mancini: More Than Music (new)
o Mr. Yunioshi: An Asian Perspective (new)
o The Making of a Classic
o It’s So Audrey: A Style Icon
o Behind the Gates: The Tour
o Brilliance in a Blue Box
o Audrey’s Letter to Tiffany
o Original Theatrical Trailer
o Photo Galleries
And Funny Face’s:
o Kay Thompson: “Think Pink” (new)
o This is VistaVision (new)
o Fashion Photographers Exposed (new)
o The Fashion Designer and His Muse
o Parisian Dreams
o Paramount in the ’50s - Retrospective Featurette
o Original Theatrical Trailer
o Photo Galleries
And I don’t really like Horton Hears a Who, either. It’s just that they try to be funny, but they are really not. Probably the only funny one is the little yellow one and I think her name is Kate or Katie. AND the Horton Hears a Who people didn’t even send us the real DVD!!! They sent us a promotional copy that came in an envelope and not a nice box!!! AND when you play the movie there’s a logo on the screen the whole time!! Annoying!!! We work hard on these reviews so the least they could do is send us a good copy!!
