You can’t tell from the video, but Cloud B’s Twilight Sea Turtle really does light up the room with soothing green and blue stars and moons. I think you can see that Maya’s enthusiasm for it more than makes up for the lack of visual presentation.
Winner of the 2008 Creative Child Top Choice of the Year Award, the sleepy turtle comes with a star guide to teach kids about the three constellations that will be featured on the bedroom ceiling each night: the Big Dipper, Deophinus the Dolphin, and Cetus the Whale.
Kids can also learn about the importance of conservation by reading the included Twilight Sea Turtle story, which features five endangered species: the Blue Whale, California Sea Otter, Knysna Seahorse, Leatherback Turtle, and Vaquita Dolphin. As a bonus for the eco-conscious, part of the proceeds go to an international conservation organization.
The stars show up best when the turtle is closer to the cieling, but Maya likes to put it on the floor so the stars are spread out all over her room, giving her walls, cieling, and bed a relaxing glow. And, of course, she’s always asleep by the time the turtle’s 45-minute self timer turns it off.
Kids who LOVE High School Musical and Hannah Montana should get the Hannah Montana DVD Game and the High School Musical DVD game! They’re coming out on November 18th and they are really fun! My favorite is the charades game. On the Hannah Montana one it’s called “Hellooo Drama!” and on the HSM game it’s called “Drama Class”! You can sing and play the drums and other stuff on it! There’s even a trivia quiz! On the High School Musical my favorite one is the Career Finder Quiz! It asks you questions and at the end it will tell you what your job should be! It’s really cool! I should be a lifeguard.
Don’t forget, we’re giving away 2 books: Totally Vegetarian and Smelly Locker. Just click here to go to the giveaway post and answer the easy-peasy question. You have until 4:00 Sunday!
And keep checking back because you won’t even believe what else we’re giving away between now and Christmas.
Zingo by ThinkFun is a fun game for big kids, but mostly it’s fun for little kids because Zingo teaches little kids how to read! Even though it teaches you stuff, it’s still fun. But don’t give it to kids who cry when they lose. But still, it’s a fun game.
Maya interviews Ginger about LeapFrog’s Pet Pals game for Leapster. Maya and Ginger both love this game. They don’t even realize that it teaches them early math, reading, writing and following directions. They just work really hard trying to get first place in the dog show!
